What is Sage?

Salvia officinalis sage is a perennial native to the Mediterranean area and is actually a member of the mint family. It’s savoury yet peppery taste has made it a staple in both culinary and medicinal use for centuries. The plant carried an extremely high reputation throughout the Middle Ages, where its use for its healing properties and value were rampant throughout Europe. 

Considered to be one of the most versatile leafs in traditional medicine, sage is used for:

●    Relief of digestive issues such as diarrhoea, heartburn and gastritis
●    Relieve depression, memory issues and Alzheimer’s
●    Preventing cold sores
●    Reducing hot flashes during menopause
●    As an inhalant for asthma patients
